The Logo - Explained

(Click to visit our main web site)

Our company logo is made to represent the three-layer network design of core, distribution, and access layers. The symbols used are the logical network diagram icons for routers and switches, and the branches are meant to be links between them with the trunk as the connection to the Internet. From the bottom up, 3 switches represent the "core", 4 large routers represent the "distribution layer", and many small routers represent the "access layer". This is not intended to be a perfect network design, just a good looking logo with a technical/networking edge to it that will scale decently from large size (like above) to business card size. For those of you that like subliminal messages, our logo contains one! There are 24 small devices (access layer) and 7 large devices (core and distribution layers) - 24 hours, 7 days a week, the amount of time a network should work, as in...the network should always work! :)

The reason I (the owner) used the name, The Forest Networking, is due to the fact that I have been running a free online service under the name The Forest for over 6 years now. Also, there are no other companies with this name that I have been able to find. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have. Thank you for visiting our site.
